New Mexico Weekend

It's been a busy few days. We've been able to see a lot of Santa Fe. Sophia loved buying some pretty earrings from an Indian lady on the sidewalk. We visited a very old, gorgeous church.
In the town square there were people having a hunger strike. The kids couldn't imagine not eating for any cause.

Then there were art galleries were they had massive art work displayed all over the grass. I was a little tense with the kids running all around them because they all had the price tags on them, and I didn't see anything under $10,000, so we didn't buy anything there.

The highlight of this weekend was going on a train ride. The Easter Bunny rode on the train the whole time, going up and down the aisles, handing out treats and dancing with the kids.
We rode in a very old rail car. The train tracks were right next to houses and a walking trail, so people would be in their backyards, looking out their windows, walking their dogs, sitting at a stop light, and everyone waved. The kids loved it. It was such a friendly ride.

Today we drove up to a ski resort. There were lots of skiers. They played in the snow, but we didn't ski. We just sat in the lodge, had lunch and watched people come down the mountain.

Alec has enjoyed cooking meals with his grandpa. They make dinner every night together for all of us. The girls enjoy looking at all of the art work all over the house.

This isn't a museum, this is a shelf in the grandparents house, with just a few of their art pieces.

Alec had so much fun cooking with grandpa. They were only used to cooking for two people and couldn't believe how much my kids could eat.

There was a hot tub with a great view in the backyard. The children loved it.

Even though they didn't ski, they sat on the ski lift and enjoyed the snow.

That Easter Bunny train ride looks like fun (to Teensy it would be a nightmare, though).

Their house really does look like a museum. That would make me nervous with my kids!

Hurry back.
