Goodbye Santa Fe

We had a great time with the grandparents in Santa Fe, which is a great town. One of our last days there, we went to an Indian reservation. The people were all dressed in their native American clothes, with feathers, fox tails turtle shells, and body paint. There were about 200 people dancing and chanting. We weren't allowed to video tape or take pictures because it was their religious ceremony, so we just sat and watched. It was an amazing sight.

The kids loved showering in grandpa's huge shower.

We went to the Loretto Chapel that was built in 1873 and has a staircase that was on Unsolved Mysteries. It makes over two complete 360-degree turns, is 20 feet tall, and has no center support. It was constructed with only square wooden pegs without glue or nails. The whole chapel was gorgeous.

Riding with grandma & grandpa on the Easter train.

Here are three generations of Obering men. Grandpa and Alec are standing on some rocks so they can be as tall as Chris. Grandpa bought Alec his hat, which Alec wore every day we were in Santa Fe. Chris' dad is known as "the tickle grandpa" because he's always tickling the kids. It was a great trip, especially for Chris who hadn't seen his dad in years.

so fun! so i'm intrigued about this staircase... why was it on unsolved mysteries? just because of it's fancy construction, or because someone fell off it and died? (ok, so i just love a good ghost tour)

That is one awesome looking shower! Fun poses too :) My siblings and I used to love to watch Unsolved Mysteries, so I'm also wondering about the staircase.
