Holiday Activities

This past week was busy with holiday get-togethers that were so fun. We spent family night with the fun Franco family. They had yummy food and crafts for the children. Alex gave a great message about remembering Christ at Christmas.

For a fun weekend date, Chris & I went to a gift exchange party that we look forward to every year. The friends are so fun. But the best part is watching everyone get excited about their gifts, then get disappointed as it gets taken away by some heartless thief. (I don't mean my friend Brenda who stole my fondue maker) We came home with a massaging/heated/MP3 playing seat cover, so we're happy.

Today I took my girls the see the Nutcracker for the first time. They loved the dancers that dressed like Jasmine. They kept asking why the girl in the nightgown was crying. But I think their favorite part was seeing Santa dance with the ballerinas to Christmas songs at the end.

We saw all the dancers in the lobby after the performance and Sophia got her picture taken with "Clara" who was very sweet.

We went with lots of friends from church, which made it even more special and fun for the girls.

To top it off, they were also selling Webkins, buy one get one free. So we came home with a black cat and a white puppy. We'll be returning to this ballet and will make it one of our holiday traditions.

The activities didn't stop there. We also had our ward party. It went so smoothly. I'm so impressed how our activity committee pulls off these parties for such a huge number of people and do a great job every time. Everyone was given white scarves as a gift. We had yummy ham, potatoes and pie. Then the children and choir sang for everyone.

This month's parties are far from over. Even though it's busy, I love spending time with friends and making great memories for the kids.
